Digital Resources for Building Global Competence

The U.S. Department of Education’s (ED) has an International Strategy designed to prepare every U.S. student to succeed globally through international education and engagement. This might surprise many teachers.

​

Even if you don't view this as part of your job responsibility, a look at this continuum may help you see that the four strands

can help promote critical thinking, communications, socio-emotional and language skills. These will help ensure that American students reach adulthood on par with the rest of the world.  

​

The extensive  Framework for Developing Global and Cultural Competencies to Advance Equity, Excellence and Economic Competitiveness is the product of a working group with representatives from across ED and discussions with the education community.
